Profile 1/3: Eternal Children of the Universe

The First Line is called the Investigator, and the Third is the Martyr (though we prefer the word Experimenter). And indeed, a person with Profile 1/3 is a tireless Investigator of life and of how everything works.

The reason for this endless search for foundations lies in the very nature of the First Line: fear, a sense of insecurity and instability. The only way to reach a state of safety is to know the nature of things deeply. It is this fear that drives the First Line to dig the world down to its foundations and take it apart atom by atom.

These people carry a genetically built-in ability to learn, so that they can find out the real truth about how everything is arranged and how life actually works.

This is a Personality that came into this world to learn. There are no better students on this planet than people with the First Line in their Profile.

The task of the First Line is to dig deeply enough into the foundations of a subject to become competent in it. If the foundation is not dug well enough, if the foundation of the house that the other Lines will build is not solid enough, then it won't work. Only homogenized, false truths can stand on an incorrect foundation.

In relationships with people, the First Line can feel a strong inferiority complex and a reluctance to step into that experience, because it is not sure of itself. Insecurity is the key word for the First Line.

The problem with the First Line is that when they set out to dig into something, they know nothing about their Strategy and Inner Authority. They initiate their digging from the mind and, predictably, end up with frustration, bitterness, disappointment, or anger, depending on their Type. And they drop it. That is the moment they start to feel less than whole, because the First Line only feels whole once it has dug all the way through. If it has set out to study 50 volumes of some body of work, it will feel whole only when it closes the last page of the last volume.

That is why people with a First Line in their Personality will clearly notice a theme of psychological discomfort, which could be called, in quotation marks, an inferiority complex. In reality, it is a constant drive to dig things through to the end and to complete their own education, so that they can go out into the world and give people knowledge that is complete.

If a person with a First Line in their Personality makes a decision through their Strategy and Inner Authority, say, to go on vacation and choose a hotel, rest assured they will dig up the best one. They will study the whole internet, every option the market has to offer, they will consider apartments, villas, hotels, and Airbnb, they will look at EVERYTHING! They will do real research. And once they feel they have done it all the way through, that is the person you will most want to ask about where to stay in Southern Italy in mid-October.

And with all this, we are dealing with the body of the Third Line, whose theme is misconceptions, mistakes, and the pursuit of new experiences. That is, a person with Profile 1/3, with a personal drive to learn and to dig into things deeply, will constantly run into things that turn out not to work, to be wrong, to be things that cannot be trusted.

It has also been noticed that the Personality, while busy digging, often fails to notice what the body is doing. No wonder, since 1/3 is the most self-absorbed Profile. That is, the body of the Third Line has already stepped into the experience and made a mess of things, and sometimes all the First Line Personality can do is watch the results.
